Handler began her career as a correspondent for The Tonight Show. Handler made her breakthrough in 2006 by hosting her own E! show. The show was called Chelsea Handler. The show ran for a total of two seasons. Handler later performed in the US in the Comedy Central Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour. The stand-up shows she has performed have been aired by VH1, Comedy Central's Premium Blend, and HBO. In 2010, it was announced that she was to host MTV's Video Music Awards in 2010.
